The are 2 ways to do this:
1) in Google search use "site: your domain".
2) another way is google web console. Open your Google webmaster Account, then click on your targeted website, then click on Crawl and finally click on Sitemaps

As to your first question - most of my sites got indexed after just a few days.
You can speed up this process bu manually adding your URL to Google
