Google maps api and ranking

Guys, is there any relationship between the paid use of google maps api and increasing the ranking of the site?

Now the site pays decent money for the volume of requests that are made under the onslaught of clients. There is a desire to save money and switch from google api to here.com, for example. But one character began to say that this is fraught with the loss of some of the traffic from Google. Does this make sense or is it just an urban legend?

Your site's ranking isn't directly tied to the choice of API. Google does consider factors like site speed and user experience, which can be influenced by your choice. But it's not a make-or-break deal.
That said, losing some Google traffic when making changes is possible. It's not an urban legend. But it doesn't mean you can't recover or even improve in the long run.
