0 referrals. Why is that?

This can happen in two cases:
- a friend didn't use your link or copied it incorrectly (lost some characters from the link)
- your friend has already been registered on the site

It is impossible for your friend to use the link correctly, but not to get referrals - this system has been tested and verified many times and works perfectly.
