On Monday, the Alphabet Workers Union, a union formed by employees of Google and other companies within the Alphabet holding, crossed the 700 mark. At the time of launch, which took place on January 4, there were about 230 of them.

The association, open to both permanent and contract personnel, includes employees from 35 offices in the United States and Canada.

Work on the creation of the union was carried out in secret and took almost a year.

Recently, the organization called on YouTube to block Donald Trump following the popular social networks, but the platform has so far limited itself to removing controversial videos.

Let's remind that the mission of the trade union is not to promote any specific demands. The association sees its task as ensuring fair and equal working conditions for all Alphabet staff.

We also add that according to the report for the third quarter of 2020, at the end of September the number of Google employees was 132,121 people.
