Google Ads will allow online pharmacies to promote their services

Google Ads announced that health and pharmaceutical regulations will be changed in December 2020 for a number of countries.

The service will allow licensed online pharmacies to promote their services through Google.

Advertising of online pharmacies in Russia will be allowed if they have a license from the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) and a permit for distance selling. However, a license is required even if the online pharmacy only sells non-prescription drugs.

Advertisers will also need to be certified by Google. Information on how to apply is available in the Help.

The update of the rules will affect Russia, Germany and Hungary. All changes can be viewed in the Google Ads Policy Center.

Recall that according to a study by Google and Kantar, this year humans began to trust online sources more when choosing and buying medicines.
