After Google announced the launch of the December 2020 Core Update, there were rumors in the industry that the search engine was also launching Passage Indexing at the same time.
Barry Schwartz of Search Engine Roundtable posed this question at the last webmaster hangout on December 4th. Google employee John Mueller replied that he did not know if Passage Indexing was launched or not, but this update is not related to Core Update.
