I set up a new server, installed Centos 8 and Isp manager 5 - now instead of Mysql 5.5, as before, the panel immediately installs Mysql 8 - out of habit I decided to change to mariadb but wondered, maybe not worth it? What do you advise?

It's not worth it. Mysql works great.

It is easy not to install mariadb, it must be removed completely almost everything. And if you do not take advantage of all the advantages of MariaDB, but simply use the standard InnoDB, which 99% of users use, then there are generally 0 differences, since this module in mariadb is taken from mysql
